Track Name: Paint My Picture
Paint my Picture by Blake Russell © 2008

She was my lover. Love, and heart breaker. She was an artist of hearts.
She gave me color and loved like no other, but she had another.

She painted my picture when I was a drifter,
A now I'm trying not to give in and go… But I can't slow down!

She left a sign in the back of my mind, though I had tried to forget.
It was on a soft spot, and then I knew that she'd got ahold of my rhyme again.

She painted my picture when I was a drifter,
A now I'm trying not to give in and go… But I can't slow down!

I can't help but love her, I tried to rise above her, but it nearly tore me apart!
I know every artist who's painted in the books, but she's the one who's got me hooked.

She painted my picture when I was a drifter,
A now I'm trying not to give in and go… But I can't slow down!
Track Name: Go To Chicago
Go To Chicago by Blake Russell © 2009

Well I'm gonna leave. I'm gonna feed my hunger.
My baby left me, now I can't stand it any longer.

I'm going…
I'm going to chicago.

She said she'd go unless I gave her all of my love.
I shouldn't have said no, 'cause now she's living in chicago.

I'm going…
I'm going to chicago.

I've gotta make it right. I've gotta find the light.
I'm going to tell her how I was truly wrong, so… she'll come back from chicago.

I'm going…
I'm going to chicago.
Track Name: I Can See Again
I Can See Again by Blake Russell, Alex Strahle, & Jack Strahle © 2010

There's many places, so many people.
There's many religions, and every one thinks they're right.
There's no one listening, we only want to talk.
There's only a word, and no one gets it right.

Now I can see again. There's no face on earth.
Now I can see again. Where is the place for me on earth?

Here is the basic premise, here's the basic plan…
You have lead me astray, I'm coming home again.
Here's a basic love, here's a big connection…
You have forced me to surrender to affection.

(Chorus)

Down… Oh, everything goes down.
Down… everyone falls down.
Down… What is up is down, and…
Down… All I saw was down, down, down…

(Chorus)
Track Name: Daddy's Shoes
Daddy’s Shoes by Blake Russell, Jack Strahle & Alex Strahle © 2011

I feel a rhythm deep inside my chest. Carved along my rifle are the names of fallen friends.
I’ve got my Bible. I'm shipping out to die for everything my fathers have fought to call their own.
This is my prayer: to go when you need me there. I’ll forget my blues and put on my Daddy’s shoes.

All you young men, cast away your sin. Any hate you spread, it leaves bloodstains there instead.
Go be the father, carrying the water ‘til your muscles all are worn and the people quench their thirst.
This is my prayer: to go when they need you there... to lay down your blues and put on your Daddy’s shoes.

People of earth, remember what we’re worth. Cast aside your weapons and go out to those in need.
In all your riches, remember you dig ditches, and it takes so many stitches to repair the wounds of greed.
And in the end when we’ve conquered all our demons, we'll lay down the blues and put on our Daddy’s shoes.

When times get hard, I swear I will work harder.
If I am pushed down, I swear that I will rise.
This is my prayer: to go when you need me there.
I'll forget my blues and put on my Daddy’s shoes.
Track Name: Black Stone
Black Stone by Blake Russell © 2011

I work for the company to earn for my home, and they barely pay me for a ton of black stone.
I take my company coins to the company store… and I give them right back, so I don't go cold.
Some years ago in the town's only school, I met a girl who made me feel like a fool.
I wanted her so bad and she wanted me, but she hated the mines, and the company.

Oh Black Stone! She's got a hold on me. But I could not leave the company.
So my one and truly lovely had enough of the cold coal valley.

She said, "I love you babe but I hate this town, and if you love me too, you'll put your pick axe down.
We'll move away to a home and work part-time. We can leave this cold coal valley behind."
Somehow I haven't died and I'm still living here. My friends faded away with the things I hold dear.
But I don't act like it's not been my fault, and my black lungs will work 'til the day I drop.

Oh Black Stone! She's got a hold on me. But I could not leave the company.
So my one and truly lovely had enough of the cold coal valley.

Well, she saw through me, and the things I'd say… and I haven't seen her since she left that day,
When my one and truly lovely, she'd had enough of the cold coal valley.

Oh Black Stone! She's got a hold on me. But I could not leave the company.
So my one and truly lovely had enough of the cold coal valley.
